Who we are

Homio is operated by Zafrionet Ltd, a company registered in Rwanda and based in Kigali. We are the data controller for the information described below. Contact us at zafrionetltd@gmail.com.

What we collect

We collect only what the app needs in order to work.

Data	Why we collect it
Name, email address, phone number	To create and secure your account, and — for landlords — so that a tenant who has paid can contact you.
Password	Held only by Google Firebase Authentication. We never see it and cannot retrieve it.
Location (GPS)	Two uses. For tenants: finding houses near you, only while the app is open and only after you allow it. For landlords: each verification photo records a live GPS fix at the property, and those readings become the listing's map pin.
Photographs	Landlords submit property photos. The verification photos must be taken with the camera at the property; gallery uploads are not accepted for these.
Listing details	Rent, district, sector, address, bedrooms, amenities and availability, so the property can be searched and displayed.
Payment records	Transaction reference, amount, status and the mobile money number used. We never see or store your PIN, and we do not store card numbers.
App activity	Saved homes, unlocked listings, reports you submit, and basic device information used for diagnostics and fraud prevention.

How we use it

To run the app: accounts, search, saved homes and unlocked listings.
To verify listings before they go live, and to investigate reports of fake, occupied or misleading properties.
To process payments and grant access to a listing's contact details.
To provide support and respond to complaints.
To prevent fraud and protect users.
To meet legal, accounting and regulatory obligations.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not show third-party advertising in the app.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers needed to operate Homio:

Google Firebase — authentication, database, file storage and server functions.
Google Maps Platform — maps, place search and geocoding.
XentriPay (Centrika Ltd) — mobile money and card payment processing.
Landlords and tenants — when a tenant pays to unlock a listing, that landlord's name and phone number become visible to them. Landlords do not receive tenants' contact details through the app.
Authorities — where we are legally required to disclose information, or to establish or defend a legal claim.

How long we keep it

Account and profile data — until you ask us to delete your account.
Listings — until removed by the landlord or by us. Deleted listings are held in an audit archive.
Payment records — retained after account deletion where accounting, tax and anti-money-laundering obligations require it.
Support correspondence — kept for a reasonable period after the matter closes.

Your rights

Under Rwandan data protection law you may ask to see the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to certain processing. Email zafrionetltd@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Security

Data travels over encrypted connections and is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure. Passwords are managed by Firebase Authentication and are not accessible to us. Payment credentials are handled entirely by our payment provider. No system is perfectly secure, so keep your password and your mobile money PIN private — Homio will never ask you for either.

Children

Homio is not intended for anyone under 18. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page. The effective date above will change, and material changes will be announced in the app.
